Start the countdown! It’s nearly 2018 and that means we’re all reflecting a little on the last year and how, or if, we’ve kept with previous New Year’s resolutions. Maybe 2017 wasn’t your year, but that’s OK! We’ve got some tips for you to keep up with your 2018 goals here on The Wire.
The path to success may not always be cut-and-dry for some people. It’s said that you’re more likely to succeed if you plan to break your resolution into smaller pieces. Some work well using a physical list they can measure and mark, while others find that sticking to a mindset works. It all depends on what works for you!
Try to set only one resolution. This will make it a little easier to achieve your goals instead of feeling overwhelmed. You don’t want to over do it with many different goals that seem impossible to reach!
Another tip is to not dwell on previous years and try a resolution you have done in the past! Past goals are just that, in the past! Make 2018 a “trendsetting” year, as in, don’t pick a goal everyone else is trying to attain. Think of what YOU are wanting to accomplish.
In 2018, make sure you reward yourself! If you achieve part of your goal, be sure to take time to reward yourself as you mark parts of your resolution off the list. It’s important to stay motivated. And finally, don’t get discouraged if you slip up! The road is long, 365 days to be exact, and if you indulge in an ice cream cone at the company birthday party, don’t beat yourself up about it… maybe just remember to skip the sprinkles.
