Help! My Power’s Out! What to Do During a Power Outage Causing Storm

It’s time to prepare for Texas sized storms and be weather-aware! Don’t forget, a power outage can strike at any second and it’s important to be prepared.

Who and What is a TDU?

TDUs like Oncor or Centerpoint manage the electric lines you drive by each day as well as manage the meter on the side of your home! They also have a separate fee on your monthly bill.

What is ERCOT?

Residential customers are needing to step up and get educated. In the past we have discussed TDUs or Transmission and Distribution Utility; this week in the Wire blog, we will discuss ERCOT, or, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.

EXCELLENT company. I have used them for almost 3 years now and I do not have a single complaint! Super low rates, great website / user interface and awesome customer service. If you are looking a great energy company, look no further than 4Change!

The service is super low cost !! But customer service sucks . Once I was supposedly was given credit and even asked the representative if it would apply for my next bill and he said yes!
The following bill it had at the bottom of the statement an added balance, meaning I had to pay for the CREDIT they had given me . It showed as if I didn’t pay the whole amount from the previous bill. So when I called the person while explaining to me what it all meant was laughing that I didn’t understand that credit doesn’t mean money but even when I said let me speak to your supervisor because it is not my fault the representative from the previous time told me after I even asked if the credit would go towards my bill it’s not my fault it’s theirs !! So if you run into any issues sorry you’ll have to deal with the people over the phone . Also whenever I refer someone I NEVER get the $25 gift card they promote

I have had 4Change Energy since we moved into our house at the start of 2018. We have loved the service, we get weekly updates of how much energy we use every week, along with a rough estimate for the month, and how much it will cost us. I renewed our energy plan this past January and they kept our same great rate, it was still the cheapest looking on PowerToChoose. Then I just recently renewed our plan at the same rate for 2 more years and am getting a $50 gift card. I still haven't found a better plan for the amount of energy we use throughout the year, as little as 1000kW to 2600kW.
